Leicester’s oldest surviving theatre plays host to an eclectic programme of live music, comedy, performance and spoken word with around 14,000 visitors a year.
The Y Theatre, meeting room and sports facilities are available to hire for conferences, parties and live entertainment events. The flexible auditorium allows for intimate candle-lit cabaret, rows or open dance floor to create the perfect atmosphere to fit the occasion. Featuring a fixed seat balcony with a great view of the stage, the capacity of the venue ranges from 260 to 350.
The Y supports a growing number of emerging and experienced local performers, writers and artists through developmental programmes and showcases, as well as engaging young people in creative activities. 14/48 is part of the programme twice a year and aims to create an environment for professional artists to collaborate by writing, rehearsing and performing 14 plays in 48 hours.
