About

Geoff Norcott: Basic Bloke 2 - There's No Bloke Without Fire

Star of _Have I Got News For You_, _Is University Really Worth It?_, _The Last Leg_, _Would I Lie to You?,_ _Live At The Apollo_, _8 Out of 10 Cats_, _Backstage With Katherine Ryan, The Mash Report, The News Quiz, Geoff Norcott’s Working Men’s Club_ and many more!

_BASIC BLOKE 2 – THERE’S NO BLOKE WITHOUT FIRE_ is the latest tour from comedian, author, podcaster and radio host GEOFF NORCOTT and Geoff’s first under a Labour government, so he’s got _plenty_ to get off his chest! Not least because there’s nothing quite so British as being promised a brave new dawn then realising it’s as crap as the last one.

Geoff will savour getting his teeth into the new ‘big beasts’ of British politics, with scathing words for Starmer and Rachel Reeves (while surprisingly positive about the idea of Angela Rayner as PM).

Culturally, Geoff is conscious that – as the global headwinds shift right – he might end up at odds with people who used to be on ‘his side’. He’s dismayed to find that some of the cultural right weren’t really against censorship and cancellation, they just wanted to be the ones doing it.

What’s more, Geoff can’t get his head around people who shared his suspicion of the EU’s power openly salivating over the idea of Britain becoming Trump’s 51st State.

Unlike most sequels,_ Basic Bloke 2_ will move beyond some of the themes of the original (while fully aware that a comedian doing a ‘sequel’ at all is a bit ridiculous).

He’s been moving in male mental health circles for a while how, but while they’re all saying blokes should ‘check in’ on each other, he’s wondering what happens if you do ‘check in’ all the time but they mainly want to send you politically incorrect memes.

Geoff’s also taking advantage of the rediscovered tolerance towards jokes being jokes to tell you what he really thinks. How much he _judges_ people. Bad parents, people who eat too much, anyone who wears a dressing gown beyond 9am…it’s fair to say the gloves are off.

★★★★ “HE HAS BECOME ONE OF OUR MOST REFRESHINGLY FUNNY COMEDIANS OF ANY STRIPE” The Times

★★★★ “THE LAUGHS ROLL IN LIKE WAVES” Evening Standard

“GEOFF NORCOTT IS IN HIS ELEMENT ON THE STAND-UP STAGE” Daily Mail
