Learn about working with fused glass in this relaxing 2-hour taster workshop with glass artist and tutor, Katherine Wilson.
Create a unique tile or light catcher using coloured sheet glass and a wide range of accessory glass to bring your design to life. Katherine will then take away your piece for firing and return it to the Attenborough Arts Centre around a week later for you to collect (collection date will be confirmed at the workshop).
No experience of working with glass is needed so this is a great introduction to this fascinating craft.
At the end of the workshop you will have an understanding of how to design and assemble glass for fusing, a finished piece ready for firing, and maybe a new passion for working with glass to be continued!
Tutor Katherine has been a practicing glass designer/maker for 15 years and shares her passion for working with glass by delivering workshops at an introductory and more advanced level in glass fusing, copper foiling and traditional stained-glass panel making.
This 2 hour workshop will start at 10:30am or 1:30pm (depending on which session you book).
Our café will be open on the day or you are welcome to bring your own refreshments.
Please note - this workshop is running twice on Saturday 10 May, so please ensure you book the time you require – either 10.30am-12.30pm or 1.30-3.30pm.
All materials are included in the course fee.
Participants must be 16+. Under 18s must be accompanied by a paying adult at all times.
Please ensure that you agree to our updated TERMS & CONDITIONS before booking as courses/workshops are non-refundable in some circumstances.
We aim to make all our sessions as accessible as possible and carers/PAs are very welcome - just remember to book their free place when you book your session.
