About

The Old Workshop

One of a collection of beautifully renovated farm dwellings with 30 acres of woodland to explore, The Old Workshop is a charming cottage close to the pretty village of Shawell and ideally placed for exploring the rural countryside of Leicestershire.

With a bubbling hot tub, delightful private garden, shared games room, fishing pond and wellness centre, there’s all you need here for the perfect family holiday or getaway with friends, and even your four-legged friend is invited!

From the moment you arrive at The Old Workshop you will be enchanted. One of a cluster of sympathetically restored buildings encircling a shared gravel courtyard, the cottage is all on one level with sociable living space and three stylish bedrooms. The living space includes a super kitchen with all the equipment you’ll need to create a culinary feast and breakfast island where guests can perch and chat with the chef. The large dining table is the ideal place to plan the adventures of the day, and the sitting area has comfy sofas and a Smart TV to catch up on the latest movies. Doors lead out from here into the large garden. The bedrooms, two doubles and a single are stylishly furnished and have the luxury of their own en suite shower rooms! No queuing for a morning shower here.

Outside, the garden is grassed and overlooks the woodland. A hot tub and fire-pit barbecue are yours for the duration of your stay, perfect for alfresco dining and relaxing from dawn until dusk. Guests will love the shared games room with pool table, table football and digital darts, plus a quiet reading room filled with books and games. You are welcome to use the fishing pond (please bring your own equipment) and also enjoy picking your own seasonal vegetables and herbs from the raised beds during your stay. And, if your family and friends want to join you in separate accommodation, you can choose from a range of two and three bedroomed options: Caigemdar (5557) Fisherman's Den (5558) Lachlan's Barn( 5554) and Coach House (5555)

The on-site wellness centre has fabulous spa facilities including a Himalayan salt room, steam room, Swedish sauna, infrared dry sauna, plunge pool, ice machine, showers and changing rooms. These facilities can be booked direct with the retreat manager during your stay at an additional cost, and subject to availability.
