Yikes…Father’s Day is less than two weeks away!! It’s on Sunday 16th June and if like most of us you've completely forgotten, make sure you add it to your calendar right now! If you’ve already planned a fun filled Father’s Day and have plenty of ideas to make your dad feel special then great…your job is done and you can relax...
But if you have forgotten; ‘don’t panic’ as Lance Corporal Jack Jones famously said in Dad’s Army (wonder how many of you will even know what we’re referring to!)
We like to make life a little easier for our readers which is why we’ve written an article dedicated to Father’s Day, featuring all the special places you can take your dad…so let’s make a start!
Why not take dad to an award-winning restaurant for a sunny drink (we hope!) on the terrace while experiencing a truly modern British culinary experience. The North Bar & Kitchen is situated on Hinckley Road and ensure all ingredients are sourced locally wherever possible, so not only are they fresh but sustainable too. All dishes are prepared in an open-kitchen, so you can watch as the chefs work up a piece of culinary magic. North Bar & Kitchen has its roots firmly grounded in Britain, so you’ll find all the classics with a serious twist. The Sunday lunches are homely, inviting and to die for. A meal at North Bar & Kitchen is even better with a drink from its collection of 42 premium gins, which is a reflection of the building's location – 42 Hinckley Road. Don’t forget to book though to avoid disappointment!
If your dad is more of a traditionalist then traditional pub food is the perfect choice. There is no better place than the Rutland & Derby with its vibrant city atmosphere making it the perfect place to eat, drink and be merry. In addition, the bar staff mix up some of the best original cocktails in the city using artisan spirts. Hiding away at the back is the Cosy Club secret garden – a small but perfectly formed outdoor space in the heart of the city. It's also equipped with heaters, parasols and blankets at the ready, just in case the weather takes a turn for the worst (let’s face it, there is a high probability that will happen!)
