Imran, of East-African Indian descent, was born in Mombasa, Kenya, and raised in London. He briefly studied illegally in the USA and traveled extensively, including to Israel/Palestine and Saudi Arabia during the 2006 Lebanon Crisis, which deeply changed him. In 2010, his debut solo show at the Edinburgh Festival earned a 5-star review and a nomination for Best Newcomer. He later appeared on TV, including Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, and debuted his BBC radio show *Relabelled* in 2021.
