From the Ice Skate Leicester website. Click here to book.
Is it the same as last year?
No! There’s loads new this year, including illuminations underneath the ice, a brand new layout, a festive food court and Santa’s Grotto outside the rink, plus loads of special events from character nights, student events and even Drag on Ice!
Can I change a booking?
The Ice Skate Leicester team are unable to change bookings so please make sure that you select the correct date and time. All ticket sales are final and non-refundable. Once you have entered the ice rink and your ticket has been scanned, you will not be able to re-use it.
How long do I have on the ice?
Each session lasts for 45 minutes to allow for change-over. Ice Skate Leicester recommend getting there at least half an hour before your session starts so you have time to get your skates on!
What do I do when I arrive?
Have your tickets ready to be scanned at the entrance. You will be asked to take your shoes off and they will be swapped for skates. Be ready with your shoe size (top tip – wear thick socks). You are welcome to bring your own skates if you have them.
You’ll need to place any loose items in the cloakroom so nothing is left unattended in the ice rink area. There is limited space, so please leave large bags and personal belongings at home.
Is there a space to watch?
There is a small viewing area for spectators to enjoy which is also fully accessible. Remember that skates can only be worn when on the ice and in the skate exchange, you cannot leave the venue with them on or walk on the carpeted area.
Are small children allowed on the ice?
Children under 3 years old are not allowed on the ice. Under 13s must be accompanied by an adult on the ice. Skate aids are available for children who are under 120cm and need one.
Are there any rules I should be aware of?
Don’t use mobile phones or take pictures on the ice. Don’t wear a hood (this restricts your vision and can be dangerous). No smoking or vaping is allowed inside the rink. Tricks and acrobatics are not allowed to make the rink safe for everyone. You should not carry your child on the ice and any bags should be left in the cloakroom.
Are wheelchair users or those with SEN allowed?
Wheelchair users are welcomed and must be accompanied by a companion. They can wear either skates or ice grips, we recommend ice grips for additional safety. Wheelchair users admission is the normal ticket rate whilst the companion goes free. There will also be dedicated sessions for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities of all ages. These sessions will have no music or flashing lights and a reduced capacity. At peak times, the ice rink may be unable to accommodate quantities of wheelchair users simultaneously. SEND Sessions are being held on the following dates:

What happens if I have an accident on the ice?
Ice Skating is a sport, and like all sports, carries a degree of risk for the participants which is accepted when booking a ticket. Ice is a slippery surface, and slips and falls do occur. There will be a professional medical team on hand to deal with all incidents/accidents that occur on the ice. Ice Skate Leicester management will not be responsible, however incurred, for all injury, accidents, and loss, however incurred by the skater.
What if I’m late to my session?
You are encouraged to arrive at least half an hour before the session starts. If you arrive outside your booked session time, make yourself know to the Ice Skate Leicester team who will do their best to accommodate you but cannot guarantee you will get on the ice.
