What is the Leicester Food Festival?

This is the first ever Leicester Food Festival, and is a showcase of our local food scene, supported by the Visit Leicester Taste The Place campaign. The event brings together fantastic local food providers with top live music and a whole host of entertainment for the whole family!

There will be more than 50 amazing food vendors including: Smashing Plates, Fat Hippo, Doughnotts, Chicken George, Giggling Squid, Fernleys Ice Cream, That Filthy Food, Chimney Cakes, Butter Brulee, Bom Bom Patisserie, Colombo Street, Dhils Eats, Lepapillon, Mac and Cheese Bar, Chocoberry, Little Somboon Box, Don Arancini, Pizza Buddies, Herb, Kayal, Olivias Bakery, Marhaba Steaks & Grill, Bubble Waffle Bar, The Rub BBQ, Cake Origin, Bento Box, The Dutch Fishmen, Sen Noods, Jerk Corner, Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe, Hog Roast, Moovin and Shakin Milkshakes, Hot Potato Shop, Bamboo Street Food and more...

Expect fun activities including an Eating Contest, Lip Sync Battle, Fun Fair, Craft Ale Workshop, Wine Tasting, Gin Masterclass, Kids Circus Skills, Story Tent, Balloon Disco, Sand Sculptures, plus Leicester City in the Community and Leicester Riders representatives.

Music comes from the Ultimate Coldplay tribute and Ed Sheeran Tribute by Dan East, supported by Ruby and the Diamonds, Annisa, Ali Gilbert, Tanni Brown, The Jam Locks, Dj Soul Dfect.


When and where is it?

Saturday 10 August 10.30am until 9pm. Sunday 11 August 10.30am until 7pm. Abbey Park, Leicester, LE4 5AQ.


How can I get there?

The main entrance to the site will be via the bridge next to the Mattioli Woods Leicester Arena. There is no dedicated parking for the event however there are many car parks and public transport links nearby.


Where can I park?

There is no car parking in Abbey Park, Abbey Park Road, St Margaret’s Pastures car park or the surrounding areas. If you’re able to walk, use public transport or cycle to the event, please do.

There will be a bike park on site, this is the perfect way to travel to the festival (and will help you burn those extra calories!

Can I bring chairs and picnic blankets?

Yes – please be respectful and mindful of other users and open spaces on site.


Can I bring my own food and drink?

No, and why would you want to? It’s a Food Festival and the arena will be filled with delicious food and drink providers. All food must only be purchased at the event unless for medical reasons.


How can I get tickets?

Tickets are only available online through the ticket partner Skiddle CLICK HERE or on the day at the box office. Every attendee needs a ticket and you will need a separate ticket for each day of attendance. A limited number of day tickets will be available on the day of the event subject to availability. This will be more expensive than buying them in advance.


What do I get with my ticket?

You get entry in to the festival to see all the live music, food and drink vendors, stalls, entertainment and events/activities (some may be chargeable). Tickets allow entry to Billy Bates Fun Fair for the day of your ticket at no extra cost.


I have a problem with my tickets who do I contact?

Please contact Skiddle directly here. Your e-tickets will be available in your Skiddle account which you can access via your laptop or mobile phone. Please note YOU MUST DOWLOAD ALL TICKETS TO YOUR MOBILE before leaving for the festival.


Are animals allowed on site?

For the health and safety of all attendees only registered guide dogs are allowed on site.


Can I camp on site?

There is no overnight camping. The festival is a day event only. If you’re travelling into Leicester then you can find a hotel through our website. Just search and book your room through the Visit Leicester website.
