What is it?
The Yarn Bomb is an annual event organised and run by a local not for profit organisation. It has grown from a small scale voluntary project to beautify the small village of Cosby to one of the county’s ‘must see’ events, with more than 2,000 participants using their creativity to help transform the village. What does that mean?
Loads of amazing knitted and crocheted creations all around the village. Everything from tiny little gnomes in the trees to life sized animals and people. Your mind will be blow by the amazing creativity on display. This year’s theme is Fun and Games, Mischief and Mayhem, inspired by the Olympics, but encompassing everything from sports to boards games to computers and everything in between!

The Yarn Bomb runs every single day from Wednesday 10th to Wednesday 31st July 2024
What is there to do?
You can explore the hundreds of fantastic creations, large and small, that are dotted around the village. Maps are available for £2 at their stall outside Bunning Hall and most village shops (check for 'Yarn Bomb Maps Here' signs) *PLEASE BRING CASH*.
How can I get there?
Cosby is in the Blaby District of Leicestershire, just a short drive from Leicester city centre and is on the main 84 Arriva bus route. You can also easily get there by bike. Use the postcode LE9 1RG in your Sat Nav. There is a bike rack at Cosby Village Hall, Park Road, LE9 1RN
Where can I park?
As the village is small and residential, please don't park on the streets. Help them out by using the free parking at Attfields Field, Broughton Rd, opposite Cosby Golf Club, LE9 1RG. The majority of displays are fully accessible by wheelchair and mobility scooter.
Can I get something to eat and drink there?
Absolutely! There’s a Community Cafe at The Bunning Hall (inc Ice Cream Van) most days from 11-4. The Cook in the Nook offers coffee and cakes, grab fish n chips from The Nook Fish Bar, if you want something more special then book a table at The Tithe Barn. There are also the Bangla Spice Indian restaurant, pub grub from the Bull's Head Cosby, Attfield's Farm Shop and Country Kitchen, Cosby Golf Club, Co-op, Premier M J Supermarket & Select Convenience.
Are there public toilets?
Yes, please use the main (non-disabled) toilet at Bunning Hall (Main Street, LE9 1UW), there is a disabled portaloo outside Cosby Village Hall (Park Road, LE9 1RN) and a fully accessible disabled toilet at the Community Church (Croft Road, LE9 1SE).
