Kasabian are playing their Summer Solstice II concert in Leicester's Victoria Park on Saturday 6 July, with support from Kaiser Chiefs, Everything Everything and more. Ticket information, line-up, travel, parking and restrictions are all here.

What’s the line up and who’s playing when?

Kasabian are headlining the Summer Solstice 2 concert at Leicester’s Victoria Park on Saturday 6 July. This is a one-day show, featuring the main band plus a number of support acts and an expected audience of 50,000 people.

Tickets are still available from Ticketmaster, starting from just £65.45.

Doors open at 3.30pm with the music starting from 5.40pm. The event is due to finish at 10.30pm. The line-up is:

  • Kasabian: 8.50pm
  • Kaiser Chiefs: 7.35pm
  • Everything Everything: 6.35pm
  • Master Peace: 5.40pm

What can I bring inside?

Any bag bigger than A4 will not be allowed and there is no bag storage area. There is a list of restricted items that will not be allowed, this includes Umbrellas or parasols of any kind, Chairs of any sort including stools and shooting sticks, any external food and drink (except 500ml sealed water bottles), flags or banners with poles and or political/crude banners, selfie sticks, push chairs/prams.

Will there be food and drink?

There will be bars selling alcoholic and soft drinks, and concession units offering a wide variety of hot and cold food including vegan and gluten-free options. There will be dedicated water refill points around the venue where you can refill your water bottles.


Where can I park

We'd advise not driving as parking will be heavily restricted around Victoria Park with residents parking only. There are also a number of other events taking place around the city including a home cricket match, the Leicester Beer Festival and a 200 person conference, plus the Euro 24 Quarter Finals.

Please use the allocated drop off and collection space at Morrisons Counting House Road. This is accessible via Victoria Park road and will be signposted from the event site.

All pre-booked UBER, Bolt, Freenow and private hire taxis can use Morrisons, Counting House Road.

A taxi rank will be operational on University Road at the end of the event for hackney carriages ONLY, access to this is via Peace Walk.


How can I get there?

Big Green Coach are the official travel partners and are offering a service from many major cities with carbon neutral coaches meaning you’ll have the peace of mind that you’re travelling safely and sustainably.

Try to use public transport to get here as parking is restricted to residents around Victoria Park and many roads around the event will be closed.

Victoria Park is only a mile away from Leicester City Centre, and the free Hop Bus can bring you from both the train and bus station to Nelson Mandela Park, which is just a short walk from Victoria Park. Alternatively, you can walk up London Road and grab food from one of the great restaurants and street food venues.

Timetabled local bus services will be running before the event, however due to the finishing time there will be very few buses that you can catch after the concert. Please make alternative arrangements.

The city circular HOP! bus is running on ingress and egress every 10 minutes, with last departure from Tigers Way at around 11.30pm.

You are encouraged to come by bike as Leicester is located on a national walking and cycling route (NCN 63). The cycle route from the city centre is via Pocklingtons Walk, Welford Road, Nelson Mandela Park and Lancaster Road.

A secure FREE Ride Leicester Bike Park will available close to the main entrance. The Bike Park will be staffed until the end of the show but all cycles are left ‘at owners risk’. So, bring your own locks & remove any portable items (lights / bags / attachments). Identification bands will be attached to your cycle. Only cycles and legal ebikes (250w maximum) are allowed. Escooters are not allowed.

Accessibility information

There is a dedicated wheelchair accessible entrance and accessible ambulant customers can use either the Main Entrance or Accessible Entrance (please see the above map).

Accessible parking must have been booked in advance please contact your ticketing point of purchase to do this.

You can find accessible toilets at each of the toilet blocks around the site, including the first aid point and right by the accessible viewing platform.


Is Victoria Park completely closed?

No, the concert will take up the main field nearest to De Montfort Hall, but the other field nearer to the University of Leicester will still be open. The children’s play areas, fitness equipment and the cricket area will all be open to the public.


Are there any road closures?

There will be a series of road closures in place at the beginning and end of the event for the safety of attendees. These will include Victoria Park Road, London Road, Clarendon Park Road and a number of the streets around the University of Leicester.


What about the noise?

Sound checks will be carried out during the following dates and times:

  • Friday 5 July from 3pm to 7pm
  • Saturday 6 July from 10am to 1.30pm
  • Music from 5pm to 10.30pm

Noise levels are being monitored around the event to avoid disturbance to residents.


When is the stage going up?

The build phase will start on Thursday 27 June and the Park should be completely clear by Thursday 11 July. Working hours are from 8am to 8pm and as much of the park as possible will be left open to the public for as long as possible.


I haven't got a ticket, can I still get one?

Tickets are still available from Ticketmaster, starting from just £65.45.


Are there any hotels available?
