BBC Radio 2 have announced their biggest live gig to ever be held outside London with Radio 2 in the Park coming to Victoria Park in September.
Taking place over two days on 16 & 17 September, the event will be welcoming 35,000 people each day to see some of the biggest stars in music! There’s a distinctly 80s feel to this weekend, with some absolute legends coming to our fair city and we're looking forward to welcoming music lovers from across the nation to Victoria Park to soak up the atmosphere and dance the night away.
This will be the biggest event on the park since Kasabian celebrated Leicester City’s incredible Premier League win back in 2016, and while the club’s fortunes have dipped somewhat since then, this incredible event will definitely bring a ray of sunshine and celebration to our city.
Who's playing?
Saturday is headlined by new wave superstars Tears for Fears. They’ll be joined by Bananarama, James Blunt, Texas, Deacon Blue, Beverley Knight, Busted and Soft Cell.
Then on Sunday night, your headliner is none other than Kylie Minogue, who played at Radio One’s One Big Sunday in Victoria Park 22 years ago! She’s joined by Pretenders, Shalamar, Rick Astley, Jessie Ware, Lemar, Sam Ryder and the amazing Simply Red.
How do I get a ticket?
There are 35,000 tickets available for each day of the festival and they will be available from 8.15am on Wednesday 14 June, and will cost £54 for a standard ticket and £140 for an enhanced ticket, which includes allocated grandstand seating, access to an exclusive bar, premium food & private toilets.
