Leicester has become more and more popular with visitors and influencers, we’ve recently seen visits from the likes of Krista The Explorer and the guys from Jump Into The Map, but we’ve also welcomed some visitors who have very kindly put together some great videos allowing you to explore our city from your sofa (or desk, or wherever you’re looking at this).

Tours of Leicester

First off, an epic set of videos from Ruth, who is known as @FilipinaintheUK. She’s based in Leicester and has made a number of videos exploring the city and the surrounding areas for her audience on Youtube.

First off we look at her tour of Leicester City, including New Walk Museum and Leicester’s beautiful old town.

Her Hidden Gems of Leicester video sees her explore the city’s Belgrave Hall and the beautiful village of Woodhouse Eaves.

The beautiful Bradgate Park is always worth a visit, and her short video takes you through the beautiful Charnwood villages to the 750 year old park, which has landscapes which were forged more than 500 million years ago

And finally, a brand new tour looking at Leicester’s Christmas lights and festive displays. They look so good!

10 places to visit in Leicester

Based mostly in Pakistan, Apricot Wanderers promote travel and tourism around the world, including some of the greatest cities in the world, obviously including Leicester. They’ve put together their 10 best places to visit in Leicester. Although maybe don’t pay too much attention to the pictures of the Grand Union Canal… It’s much nicer now!

Walking tours of Leicester

Through my eyes puts together some amazing walking tour videos of the city.

The first showcases the beautiful autumn colours of New Walk, from the city centre right up to Victoria Park.

And in this last video you can explore the Highcross and High Street areas of the city, the retail heart of our city, which has a shopping tradition that goes back to Roman times.
