The safety and well being of all visitors to Leicester and Leicestershire is paramount, so please observe social distancing guidelines and follow government guidelines. Although we are trying our best to keep up to date with information please ensure you check individual websites for details and know before you go.

We are also highlighting venues in Leicester & Leicestershire that have achieved the "We're Good to Go" standard. "We're Good to Go" is the Visit England UK-wide industry standard and consumer mark that demonstrates businesses are adhering to the respective Government & public health guidance, have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and have the required processes in place. Look out for the logo on listings across this website. You can also visit the Visit Britain website to find out which businesses have achieved the We’re Good to Go quality mark by using the We're Good To Go interactive map.

Shopping

Finally the shops are open and we can all start resuming some kind of normal activity. There are plenty of opportunities for shopping in Leicester and Leicestershire.

Highcross Leicester

Highcross is now OPEN with special measures in place to ensure your safety. These include:

The centre is home to an unrivalled selection of retailers plus over 40 delicious cafés and restaurants. If you are searching for a one-stop shopping experience in the heart of the city, then Highcross is it.

Alternatively if you're looking for something a little quieter away from the crowds then visit Leicester's independent shopping scene at St. Martin's Square.

Alternatively visit the Staunton Harold Estate's Ferrers Gallery and Garden Centre near Ashby de la Zouch. The former stables block of Staunton Harold Hall now contains a fabulous array of artist studios where you can see items from leather bags to jewellery being made by crafts people and artists as well as an artisan baker, deli and tearoom.  Combine your shopping trip with a stroll around the parkland surrounding Staunton Harold Hall and take a picnic to enjoy by the lake.

Another truly unique shopping experience is provided at the  charming Wistow Rural Centre which, as well as a range of independent boutique shops and delis, houses a garden centre in the 18th century walled garden of Wistow Hall.

Historic villages

Why not explore some of Leicestershire’s beautiful historic villages?

The wonderfully ornate baroque 17th century gate piers at Staunton Harold Hall have crest creatures atop and 18th century arches either side, there were once wrought iron gates which have sadly gone, when I saw these gates and their attached bridge/causeway for the first time when a child I couldn’t believe the view behind, the hall and church are stunning. #mansion #statelyhome #statelyhomes #countryhouse #countryhouses #loveofcountryhouses #love #historicarchitecture #historic #historicalplace #instagood #me #garden #landscapephotography #landscapedesign #landscape #architecturalphotography #architecture #architectural #stauntonharold #stauntonharoldhall #garden #gardening #regency #landscapephotography #statue #sculpture #sculptures #bridge

My experience with Fresh Casino was positive overall. They offer a wide range of games from top providers like NetEnt and Microgaming. The welcome bonus was generous but had high wagering requirements. Customer support was responsive and helpful, though withdrawals took longer than expected. A solid choice for online gaming.
