Meet Our Panelists:

Clare Halsted is a retired British international fencer and former Olympian with a wealth of experience in elite sports. She played a crucial role in supporting her son, Laurence Halsted, as he competed in the Olympic fencing teams of 2012 and 2016. Clare brings a unique perspective as both a former athlete and a parent who has navigated the complexities of high-level competition, offering valuable insights into balancing ambition with support.

Milly & Charles Kellyman Charles is the father of Milly Kellyman, a former British Skeleton athlete and a mentor with The True Athlete Project. Charles has firsthand experience in guiding and supporting a child through the demanding journey of professional sports. He will share his perspective on parenting an athlete whilst Milly will share her insights on her journey through sport.
Seonaid McIntoshSeonaid McIntosh is a distinguished Team GB shooter who benefits from the unique dynamic of being coached by her father. She has achieved significant success on the international stage, thanks to the strong foundation of trust and communication with her family. Seonaid will discuss the intricacies of maintaining a healthy coach-athlete relationship within the family and the impact it has had on her career.

Laura Gallagher is a former Team GB trampoline gymnast, a coach and a mother. She will offer a dual perspective on the challenges of being an athlete and a parent. Laura’s journey in competitive sports, coupled with her role as a mother, provides valuable insights into balancing personal aspirations with the responsibilities of parenting
