Julian Taylor

Julian Taylor, of combined Mohawk and Caribbean ancestry, is a Toronto music scene staple, and musical chameleon. His versatility as a songwriter is signature; one minute he’s onstage playing with his band spilling out electrified rhythm and blues glory, and the next he’s featured at a folk festival delivering a captivating solo singer-songwriter set. Taylor is as an explosive and captivating a live performer as you’ll ever see.

​With a stellar 2021 behind him, which has included scooping 'Best Solo Artist' at the Canadian Folk Awards, plus nominations at the Juno Awards (the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys) for 'Contemporary Roots Album Of The Year' and 'Best Indigenous Artist', Taylor kicks off 2023 by embarking on his first ever UK solo tour.

​His second solo album 'The Ridge' as already hit two million streams on Spotify, and his latest single '100 Proof' is currently featured on Spotify's 'Fresh Folk' playlist. Catch him at The Star in February.

​Support comes from Surrey singer / songwriter Hannah Scott whosemusic has been heard in the hit TV series, Grey’s Anatomy (Series 17), and has been played regularly on the BBC with releases supported by Dermot O’Leary and Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2 and Tom Robinson on 6 Music. She also been featured by MOJO, The Guardian and Clash Magazine.

She has supported Seth Lakeman, Cara Dillon, The Trials Of Cato and 10cc.
