This new 1940s inspired tea room was opened in May 2021 by a mother and daughter who share a passion for tea, cake and vintage style!
Initially intended to help support those with dementia and their families by providing a recognisable environment from their youth, the tea room has gained popularity with those who are looking for a slice of the 1940s (and cake!)
The tea room, located on the main street in Kibworth, has been created to give the impression you have stepped into a home during WWII and this continues in the garden area, which now houses an authentic Anderson Shelter. An old wireless plays songs and radio announcements from Churchill and others of the time and the staff dress in full vintage clothese everyday.
The old fashioned menu offers locally made cakes and scones plus classics such as Spam sandwiches and Camp coffee! And of course the classic British cream tea!
With old photos all over the tea room of local families of the time, Ivy Joys has created a hub for all generations and you will never pass a table without hearing a memory being shared.
