Northern Lights Leicester!
Introducing Northern Lights Leicester, the brand new lights trail coming to Abbey Park this November and December, with lights, Christmas Village, and 11 spectacular light art realms!
Northern Lights is set to transform Abbey Park into a spectacular festive experience this winter. Taking place from 18 November to 31 December, the immersive light trail will guide visitors through the historic grounds of St Mary’s Abbey and the ruins of Cavendish House, combining dazzling illuminations with specially created soundscapes and interactive displays. Plus a chance to walk through the cosmos and help find the lost North Star.
Following sell-out events in Newcastle, Manchester and Leeds, the award-winning Northern Lights trail arrives in Leicester for the first time and is expected to attract thousands of visitors. The mile-long route will feature 11 illuminated zones, showcasing creative installations, special effects and festive photo opportunities that bring the park to life after dark.

Alongside the trail, visitors can explore a magical Christmas Village packed with seasonal food and drink. From artisan street food and local bars to festive favourites such as hot chocolate, mulled wine and toasted marshmallows, there will be plenty to enjoy. A selection of vintage fairground rides will also add to the festive atmosphere, making it a memorable seasonal day or evening out for all ages.
Produced by award-winning event organisers From The Fields, Northern Lights Leicester has been designed to be as accessible and inclusive as possible, with fully paved routes and dedicated neuro-inclusive sessions featuring reduced capacity and lower sound levels.
