They operate specially adapted narrowboats on the local waterways and aim to make canal boating accessible, affordable, and inclusive for community groups, families, schools, care organisations, and individuals.
The Baldwin Trust operate two narrow boats:
Halseyon Days operates out of Leicester Marina in Thurmaston and accommodates a maximum of twelve guests. Restrictions in guest numbers apply for wheelchair users who are unable to transfer.
Access is smooth and flat with a drop off point close to the boat. Halseyon Days is available for trips between four and seven hours both north, towards Mountsorrel, and south towards Leicester.
Dandelion operates out of Barrow Boating and accommodates a maximum of twelve guests. Restrictions in guest numbers apply for wheelchair users who are unable to transfer.
The approach through the boat yard is a little uneven for both those with mobility issues and guests in wheelchairs; groups including such guests are recommended to use Halseyon Days.
