Discover a bit of Leicester's history in the Kings Lock Tearooms.

Discover a bit of Leicester's history in the Kings Lock Tearooms. Established in 2004, the tearooms are housed in the last remaining lock-keeper’s cottage in Leicester, built in 1796 and marking the place where the waterway changes from a river to a canal.

The tearooms have both indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the meadows, the canal and River Soar. It's located near the Kings Lock which is a short walk from Marsden Lane along the towpath.

The gardens are a great spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The tearooms serve hot drinks, fresh baguettes, soups and a good selection of fresh scones and cakes. Visitors can also enjoy live music on third Sunday of the month, weather permitting.

Dogs are welcome in the garden.
