Briefly known as the 'New Market Square’ since its completion in 2017, the Square was once home to the The Green Dragon inn, which lived on until the mid-19th century, but was sadly demolished in around 1850. The Inn, situated close to the Alice Hawkins Statue, was the site of an infamous murder involving a mysterious frenchman and a scandalous Royal Pardon. You can find the full story here.
