Paul has over 30 years of experience supporting both small and large businesses to invest, flourish and grow, in both Leicestershire and Lincolnshire.
During a career in both the public and the private sector Paul has specialised in attracting and supporting businesses by meeting their physical infrastructure needs whether that be improved transport connections or new premises.
Paul has worked on a number of headline projects in the region such as the Grantham Southern Relief Road, Lincoln East West Link and the Coalville Regeneration Framework. Paul also led the project to develop the Teal Park employment site in Lincoln which secured Siemens as a major employer in the city.
As a Chartered Surveyor Paul’s understanding of both the cost and value of property has been influential to many smaller businesses when making investment decisions.
Barrie Walford - Economic Development Manager at North West Leicestershire District Council
Barrie is an experienced Economic Development Officer having worked for over 20 years in Economic Development and local government. Prior to this, Barrie worked in retail and hospitality management.
His time working in Economic Development across the country has seen him lead major regeneration, development and renewal projects in complex and challenging environments together with leading, co-ordinating multi-disciplinary teams and projects.
Key skills include; Inward investment client management (for indigenous business growth, domestic investment growth, foreign direct investment), trade delegation management, business advice and support, funding development and delivery, workspace development, recruitment, academic and research collaborations, economic shocks, redundancies, infrastructure and sustainable transport projects and town centre regeneration, master planning for regeneration, urban expansions and brownfield renewal areas.
Barrie manages a team of experienced team of 15 Economic Development officers at North West Leicestershire District Council, each member of the team bringing a broad spectrum of specialisms and experiences to support the unique needs of our investors and businesses.
