A weekly opportunity to meet with other
Writers (or people who want to start writing) to grow your practise and
Confidence.

Focussed writing prompts and time and space to work on your own projects with
Support from an experienced tutor, these new afternoon sessions will give you the opportunity to share work in
progress and get feedback and support from other group members. You’ll be able
To grab a drink (and maybe some cake!) From our café and grow your own writing
Practise in a relaxed, supportive and encouraging environment.
Each week we’ll focus on a writing prompt
and complete one piece of writing. There will also be opportunities to bring
Other works in progress to share and get feedback on from the tutor and fellow group
Members.
Alongside a weekly writing prompt, there
Will also be opportunities to discuss common writing problems and explore
strategies to combat these. Each session will also include sharing of work in a
Safe and supportive environment.
Suitable for everyone - from absolute beginners
To more experienced writers who'd like to discover new voices and share their

About the tutor:
The group will be led by our creative
writing tutor, Cathi Rae. Cathi is a widely published poet, spoken word artist
Multiple poetry slam winner, workshop facilitator and experienced teacher of
adult education. Her work has appeared in journals, online magazines, poetry
anthologies and art exhibitions. Cathi has performed throughout the UK at
Poetry events, festivals and arts events, and has been described as a spoken
word icon! She has an MA in Creative Writing and PhD in Poetry from the
University of Leicester. And she probably doesn’t read enough either!

Must be aged 18+.
You just need to bring your notebook and pen or tablet/laptop, whatever you prefer
to write on! We’re sorry, we cannot supply any equipment.

We aim to make all our sessions as accessible as possible and carers/PAs are very welcome - just remember to book their free place when you book your session. If you'd like to talk to us in advance of booking or attending your sessions to discuss your access needs, our Box Office team is here to help! Email, pop in or call, open 7 days a week.
We have four blue badge parking spaces outside Attenborough Arts Centre, plus double yellow line roadside parking very close to the building for blue badge holders for up to three hours if our parking spaces are occupied.
Free parking for all customers is available after 5pm on weekdays and all day at weekends in the University of Leicester car park next door to Attenborough Arts Centre on Lancaster Road.
The closest public car park for parking at all other times is Victoria Park, 5-10 minutes walk from us (near De Montfort Hall).
