Verity Sharpe, comedian, poet, and “queer everywoman" crafts a humorous take on the realities of renting—damp walls, exploitative landlords, and the looming threat of eviction— that offers a silver lining of laughter to the dark cloud that is temporary housing. Landlord’s Wet Dream squares up to the wider issue of profit-driven housing, exposing it as a system which destroys communities and fosters instability. Come for the comedy, stay for the biting capitalist critique. Or, come for the biting capitalist critique but be warned... you will laugh. Hard.
