Using Sketchbooks With Lsa Artist Maxine Dodds

7th April
Leicester Museum & Art Gallery, 53 New Walk, Leicester, LE1 7EA

A relaxed sketchbook session for exploring art through drawing

Come along and join a friendly Drop-in session led by artist Maxine Dodds.

The session will encourage close looking and visual note taking in response to the LSA exhibition and museum collection.

Working in sketchbooks, you’ll be guided through gentle prompts designed to help you observe, collect ideas and capture favourite artworks and objects in your own way. The focus is on process, exploration and storytelling rather than finished drawings, offering a creative way to make memories and gather inspiration for future projects.

Some basic materials will be provided, and you’re welcome to bring your own sketchbook and dry drawing tools such as pens, pencils or crayons. Wet or dusty media cannot be used in the galleries.

Participants can drop in at any time during the session, stay for as long as they like, and return for guidance and encouragement throughout. You’ll leave with unique sketchbook pages as a personal souvenir of your visit.
