The Comedy of Errors by The Festival Players
Separated twins reunite, sparking mistaken identities, chaos, and farce in Shakespeare’s most uproarious comedy.
One of Shakespeare’s earliest plays, The Comedy of Errors tells the story of twin sons and their twin servants, separated in a shipwreck. The play explores themes of identity, mistaken identity, and family as we find out what happens when the twins find themselves in the same town on the same day. Confusion and mishap ensue as no one can tell the twins apart, husbands appear to be in love with the wrong person, debts refused to be paid and servants lock masters out of their own homes. The Festival Players bring live original music, comedic chaos, fast-paced story telling, traditional costume and more to Shakespeare’s most farcical play, in their 2026, and 41st, summer theatre tour. Join us to witness this spectacular comedy, in an incredible Cathedral setting.
