Supporting Your Child Through the Degree Apprenticeship Application Process

We would like to invite you to an information evening designed to support parents and carers of students who are considering applying for a degree apprenticeship.

Degree apprenticeships are becoming an increasingly popular pathway for many students, offering the opportunity to gain a university-level qualification whilst earning a salary and developing valuable workplace experience. However, the application process can be highly competitive and differs significantly from the traditional university route.

During this session, we will:

Explain what degree apprenticeships are and how they compare with other post-18 options.
Outline the application and selection process, including online assessments, psychometric testing, assessment centres and competency-based interviews.
Share practical advice on how students can build strong applications through work experience, volunteering, part-time employment and extracurricular activities.
Discuss common entry requirements and what employers are looking for in successful applicants.
Offer guidance on how parents and carers can provide effective support throughout the application journey.
The session will also provide an opportunity to ask questions and gain a clearer understanding of the support available to students through our partnership with NextGen Apprenticeships. If you would like to attend, please book a ticket using the link below.
We hope you will be able to join us for what promises to be an informative and valuable evening.
