St Wistan’s Day Medieval Fair

30th May
Wigston Library, Bull Head Street, Wigston, LE18 1PA

Oadby & Wigston Borough Council (OWBC) is bringing its popular St Wistan’s day Fair and pilgrimage walk back to Wigston for a third consecutive year.

Participants will first have the chance to follow in the path of the martyred St Wistan on a four-mile countryside walk from Wistow to Wigston, before arriving at the medieval fair on Bell Street to enjoy a day of family entertainment.

The fair is open from 11am-4pm, and includes period combat displays and re-enactments, crafts such as Saxon shield, coin and candle making, Saxon games, costume try-on, Morris dancers, Punch and Judy – and lots more!

The family-friendly pilgrimage walk sets off at 9.30am from St Wistan’s Church, Kibworth Road, Wistow, LE8 0QF and allows participants to learn more about this local legend over its course.
