St George the patron Saint of England. A feast day of St George has been celebrated in England for hundreds of years. But what do we really know about St George and how did he become the Patron Saint of England. Most people have heard a legend of St George slaying a dragon, but what else have you heard about him? Why is the life of William Shakespeare celebrated on April 23rd and how is he associated with the Leicester Guildhall. How are some of his greatest plays connected to Leicester? And where is the legendary King Lear supposedly buried?
