Social Media Marketing for Creatives
A two-day workshop for artists and makers who want to
Gain tips and tricks to get the Max from their social media.
Do you want to start selling your art online? To get better
At it but need to know more tricks of the trade?
Why do
hashtags matter? What actually is an algorithm and why should I care? Is AI
going to steal my soul? Probably. But for now, tutor Rosie will teach you how to make social media and brand marketing your
friend. Tutor Rosie will show you how enhancing your online activity will
Actually make you want to create more and try new things rather than want to
Throw your phone at the wall.
No matter what your craft or art discipline(s), if we
Reframe every single element of ‘posting online’ as artistic process
Resistance, learning, political voice or just aesthetic beauty, then why not
give it a go? It could get you some extra income, commissions, new
Opportunities, collaborations or just be a place to digitally archive your
Journey!
Experience Level: Beginner
Week One:
A breakdown of
Different types of content and why they're important
Why your brand
is YOU and how to harness this
Jargon debunked
hashtags, algorithms, WIP’s - what does it all mean?!
How to be a
Star pupil in the metaverse
Building an online
Presence
Selling your
Work
Building your
Strategy (or not worrying if you Don't have or want one)
Photography and
still images online. What, where, when and how!
The emphasis
will be on Instagram and your craft (and crafts you haven’t tried yet!)
Week Two:
Video online.
What, where, when and how!
The emphasis
will be on Instagram, TikTok, CapCut and how to turn the mundane into engaging
Content (you're already great at this by the way, you're an artist!)
Additional information from the tutor
You will need a smart phone with enough storage to take lots
Of pics and short videos, access to the internet and your chosen social media
platforms (I will not be covering Facebook as I’m told by much younger people
It's not worth it!)
You will also need to download an app called CapCut which is
Free video editing software (this app will constantly ask you to pay for the
‘pro’ version, you absolutely do not need to do this!)
You will need lots of physical copies of any of your work.
It doesn’t matter what sort of art you do, we will just need to have some of it
With us so we can take photos and videos!
Please also bring an open mind, if you’re a technophobe then
this course is for you. I’ve had to really train myself to not care what others
think and to try absolutely everything. Social media can be fickle but I’d like
to think I’ve learnt how to tame it.
