Screendemic Session – – Wreake Valley Academy

We are increasingly seeing more children across our primary schools who are being affected by excessive use of phones, tablets and video games. Many families tell us that disagreements at home often begin around screen time, and we also notice how online games or messaging can sometimes spill over into friendship difficulties in school.

Technology can, of course, be a wonderful tool for learning, creativity and staying connected. However, supporting children to develop healthy habits with screens, online communication and social media can be challengingfor all of us.

As a Trust, we are aware that high levels of screen use can sometimes make it harder for children to concentrate, manage their emotions or settle into learning. This is something many families and schools are facing, and we know that children benefit most when we work together with a shared approach.

For this reason, we warmly invite you to an important presentation on Wednesday 4th March at 6pm at Wreake Valley Academy. Please note this is an adults only session.

This session will:

* Share clear and uptodate information about how screen use can affect primary-aged children
* Offer practical strategies that families can use at home
* Highlight how schools and parents can work in partnership to support healthy screen habits
* Provide time for questions, discussion and shared problemsolving

The presentation will last for around an hour and will be especially helpful for parents and carers of children in Years 5 and 6.

Your attendance really matters.By joining this session, you will be helping us build a consistent and supportive message for childrenat home and in school. Working together as a Trust community is one of our great strengths, and together we can make a real difference to childrens wellbeing, learning and friendships.

To ease the flow of traffic in the car park and ensure that everyone is seated ready for a prompt 6pm start, please arrive by 5.50pm.
