Scandalous Stuarts by Andrea Zuvich
Scandalous Stuarts: the scandals that rocked the Stuart period, 1603-1714
Move over, Tudors, the Stuarts had more than their fair share of salacious relationships and turbulent events.
Join 17th-century historian Andrea Zuvich (The Seventeenth Century Lady) as she leads us through the most significant stories from an often-overlooked period.
From the time when James VI of Scotland became James I of England and his attentions fell upon George Villiers, to Charles I's marriage to the French Catholic Princess Henrietta Maria, the Interregnum, Charles II's hedonistic Restoration, James II's brief but important reign, followed by the complex diarchy of William and Mary, and finally, the tragic Queen Anne.
It was over a century of love, lust, war, and scandal.
