O Albion – Echoes of England

27th March
St Wilfrid's Church, Church Road, Leicester, LE8 0NB

Harborough Concerts presents O Albion , a journey through the landscapes and moods of England, past and present, performed by The Harborough Collective and guitarist Mark Ashford. From the soaring skies of Vaughan Williams The Lark Ascending to Holsts vibrant Brook Green Suite , the programme moves through memory and imagination, exploring the intimate corners of the English soundscape. The evening includes the premiere of David Le Pages A Kibworth Idyll, a three movement contemporary meditation on village life echoing the worlds of Beauchamp, Harcourt and Smeeton, alongside works by Nick Drake, Sting, Elgar, Purcell, and more.

Join us for concert of reflection, lingering melodies, rousing folk tunes and the poetry woven into the very fabric of England. A fully licensed bar will be available along with the opportunity to meet and chat with the musicians.
