Next Level Creative Writing
Are you experienced writer who feels as though you’re not reaching your potential? Do you have lots of first drafts but don’t know how to really make them work? Are you interested in ways to take your work to a wider audience?
This one-day workshop will focus on critical appraisal of our own work, the secrets to redrafting/re-writing and editing existing pieces to truly make them work. We will also explore the next steps toward publication and finding an audience for your work.
The day will also include an individual mentoring and an editing session for each participant.
YOU WILL NEED TO BRING TWO PIECES OF YOUR WORK IN PROGRESS TO THE WORKSHOP TO FOCUS ON FOR THE DAY.
This day workshop is specifically aimed at students with some experience of creative writing who are interested in further developing their creative writing skills. It is equally relevant to writers of poetry, short stories, memoir or budding novelists.
Tutor Cathi Rae is a widely published poet, spoken word artist, multiple poetry slam winner and workshop facilitator. Her work has appeared in journals, online magazines, poetry anthologies and art exhibitions. Cathi has performed throughout the UK at poetry events, festivals and arts events, and has been described as a spoken word icon! She has an MA in Creative Writing and PhD in Poetry from the University of Leicester.
Participants must be aged 18+.
This one-day workshop runs on Saturday 25 October, starting at 10:30am and ending at 4:30pm.
