Melanie Bracewell
Hailed as "A master of the stage" by Stuff NZ, Bracewell took an interest in comedy from a very young age, inspired by the likes of Steve Wrigley. After studying communication and media at the University of Auckland, she earnt domestic fame for her humour as a contestant on quiz show Have You Been Paying Attention. In 2018 she won the Billy T Award for New Zealand's top comedian, and soon began working on many projects as a writer and performer, including Taika Waititi and Jermaine Clement's Wellington Paranormal and The Project. She has also appeared on Taskmaster NZ and her own show, The Cheap Seats.
In recent years the rest of the world has begun to take notice of Bracewell's talents, aided no doubt by her viral impersonations of Jacinda Ardern during the pandemic.
