Leicester’s Christmas Lights Switch-On

This grand, city-wide celebration is more than just a simple flick of a switch, transforming the heart of the city into a magnificent winter wonderland for all visitors. The evening's focal point remains the spectacular lighting of the Clock Tower's towering Christmas tree and the thousands of festive lights adorning city streets.

Alongside the Clock Tower tree, an extensive programme of entertainment is scheduled, featuring live music, theatrical street performers. Visitors can also enjoy the funfair in Humberstone Gate, explore the treats and gifts at the Christmas Market, or gain a breath-taking perspective of the dazzling display from the Wheel of Light in Jubilee Square.
