Leicester Bach Choir Summer Concert – Serenity and Hope
Leicester Bach Choir presents its Summer Concert, 'Serenity and Hope', an evening of reflective and uplifting choral music. Conducted by Musical Director Richard Laing, the choir is joined by distinguished organist Simon Hogan.
The programme centres on Fauré’s Requiem, a work renowned for its gentle consolation and luminous beauty. This is complemented by the Messe Brève by Castagnet, alongside expressive motets by Poulenc and Villette, offering a rich palette of 20th-century sacred choral writing. The concert also features Duruflé’s Toccata, bringing brilliance and energy to the programme through the organ.
Together, these works create an evening of calm, reassurance, and quiet optimism, inviting audiences to reflect on themes of peace, comfort, and hope.
