Kids Navratri Special Garba Classes – Leicester Hamilton

SSGD Europe are bringing to you a Navratri special with our Weekly Kids Garba classes.

Starting on the 22nd August with local instructors from Sonis School of Garba Dance. The worlds biggest Garba school!

Our Kids Garba classes are an opportunity for our younger generation to come and learn from the very best in Indian folk dance, whilst expanding on their knowledge of Gujarati culture and heritage through traditional Garba folk dance.

Consisting of claps, clicks, bends and squats, this dance form focuses on footwork to the rhythm of Garba music. Students will be taught content from SSGDs structured syllabus, consisting of 5 grades.

Participants will enjoy a fun and safe environment, whilst developing their movements, boosting confidence and making new friends.

Background:

Sonis School of Garba Dance was founded in 1998 by the Soni brothers, Jigar Soni and Suhrad Soni with the vision of preserving and promoting the traditional form of Garba folk dance from Gujarat.

Being hugely popular in India over the last 25 years, SSGD have recently become more of a global platform as the largest Authentic Garba School, having a presence within 57 cities in 15 countries worldwide, with over 2000 students learning from SSGD every year.

The Soni brothers are the producers and choreographers of Falguni Pathak Garba anthem Radha Ne Shyam, and choreographers of Falguni Pathaks latest anthem Vasaladi.

Jigar Soni and Suhrad Soni are members of the International Dance Council, affiliated to UNESCO, which has enabled them to not only produce a certified syllabus for their Garba School but also present both Garba dance and, seminars at industry and private organisations.
