Dramaturgy 101 with Gurnesha Bola

This session is designed to give writers, artists, and theatre makers the opportunity to learn more about the role of a dramaturg, what the development process for new work looks like, and what makes a strong and creatively enriching dramaturgical relationship. As well as learning the basics of the craft, you’ll also be invited to join in as we deep dive into the dramaturgical process behind a produced play from early draft to final production.

You will be required to do some reading preparation for this workshop which will be shared with you in advance of the workshop via email.

Gurnesha Bola : Gurnesha is a freelance dramaturg, reader and programmer with more than four years’ experience in the development of new work for stage. She works with a broad range of subsidised and commercial theatre companies as well as literary agencies.
