Join us for our FREE Diwali Community Day. You don’t need to book a ticket – just turn up!
You’ll find an exciting selection of free activities taking place across the building, led by local South Asian artists in collaboration with Centre for Indian Classical Dance (CICD) and Nupur Arts.
- There will be free henna from 12-4pm, by local henna artist, ZARXHENNA.
- On Curve’s mezzanine, there will be Diwali themed arts and crafts, led by practitioners from Nupur Arts. Our mezzanine exhibition responds to THE LOST BREATH – a dance work by Curve Resident Creative, Kesha Raithatha. Explore her photographs and short film, which engage deeply with Leicester’s community of South Asian women.
- Our Foyer stage will be showcasing performances from CICD throughout the day. See the timings below: Live Classical Indian Music (12pm – 12.30pm, 1.30pm -2pm & 3pm-3.30pm)
- Traditional Indian music, performed live by tabla artist, Rishi Chowdhury, and sarangi artist, Sandeep Kandola.
- Family Storytelling Workshop (12.30pm -1pm & 2.30pm -3pm) An interactive storytelling workshop led by professional Indian classical dancers, Karishma Vora and Chandni Premgi.
There’s something for everybody to enjoy – for all ages. Bring friends and family along for a samosa in Curve’s cafe, to join in the fun and mark Diwali with us!
