Directing New Writing with Daniel Bailey
A playful space to connect, explore, and share ideas across writing and directing practices. Curiosity encouraged.
Join playwright and director for stage and screen, Daniel Bailey (Red Pitch, former Associate Artistic Director Bush Theatre) in the rehearsal room for an interactive, playful, and collaborative workshop on directing new writing and working with new plays in real time. Daniel will share his approach to bringing LAD by John Booker, a site-responsive theatrical experience to life, and how playwrights and directors can successfully collaborate to create impactful productions. You will be invited to engage with his approach to staging a variety of new works – using sections from existing work.
Open to writers, directors and actors at any stage.
Led by Daniel Bailey, a playwright, dramaturg and the director of LAD by John Booker: a Pop-Up Play produced by Fifth Word in collaboration with Curve, Derby Theatre and with support by Fuel.
