Why should steam fans get all the fun? Say goodbye to 2026 and get some miles in with an intensive weekend timetable starring the GCR diesel home fleet - all included within our standard fares.

Make the most of a full weekend of heritage diesel traction with our Diesel Mileage Weekend, giving you the chance to enjoy extensive running behind our diesel home fleet locomotives across Britain’s only preserved double-track main line.

Across the weekend, expect to see English Electric and Sulzer locomotives, shuttle services to Rothley and an intensive timetable- the last chance to end 2026 with a dedicated weekend of diesel action!
