Darbar Culture Festival: Kirpal Panesar, Eeshar Singh And Sukhvinder Singh Pinky
Get ready for a rare and mesmerising evening as three exceptional maestros of Indian classical music unite on one stage: KIRPAL PANESAR, EESHAR SINGH and SUKHVINDER SINGH PINKY. This is an intimate journey through sound, from the soulful, bowed tones of tar shehnai and esraj, to the shimmering, trance-like resonance of the santoor, all anchored by rhythms of extraordinary depth and power. Expect a meditative, immersive atmosphere as three masters in dialogue take you somewhere between the earthly and the divine, an evening of virtuosity you won't find anywhere else.
Kirpal Panesar is regarded among the leading tar-shehnai and esraj performers of today, having trained under Ustad Surjeet Singh from 1994 and gone on to perform at major venues across the UK, Europe and India. He also had the rare privilege of training under the great shehnai master Ustad Bismillah Khan, and his soulful playing has led him to accompany renowned artists including Pandit Rajan Mishra and Ustad Sukhvinder Singh Pinky himself. Joining him is Bradford-born santoor virtuoso Eeshar Singh, whose musical journey began at the SAA-UK Hindustani Academy — bringing a rare twist of modern santoor techniques blended with tradition, as instilled by his guru through the Guru-Shishya Parampara, producing a hypnotic, celestial sound often described as divine music for Sufi mystics. Completing the trio is tabla legend Ustad Sukhvinder Singh "Pinky"— one of India's most dynamic percussionists, celebrated worldwide for his unique style, technical prowess and stage presence, affectionately hailed as the "Pride of Punjab" and once described by the late Ustad Zakir Hussain as the greatest living jori player. Together, these three virtuosos promise a night of profound musicality and rare artistic communion — an unmissable evening at Y Theatre
