Join us in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside, for an enchanting 1940s Festival celebrating the joys of Afternoon Tea where the music is as hot as the weather, the scones await – with lashings of clotted cream! Dust off your dancing shoes, dig out your best vintage attire! This summer, the charming gardens will be transformed into a vintage wonderland, packed with music, merriment, and memories of a bygone era.

Johnny Victory will charm you with his cheeky vintage vocals and you’ll fall in love with the beautiful Bluebird Belles. Fancy a tea time tipple? There’ll be tea, treats, toe-tapping tunes, and just the right amount of mischief.

Period dress encouraged but not required and a good sense of rhythm (or humour) is all you need. Whether you’re a seasoned re-enactor or just love the romance of the era, this is one Sunday you won’t want to miss. Pop on your dancing shoes and come step back in time in the stunning surroundings of the Belvoir Castle; So, roll up your sleeves, curl up your best victory rolls, and join us for a weekend of feel-good fun and fantastic 1940s nostalgia! Suitable for all ages, from sprightly young shufflers to seasoned twirlers.

A true enthusiast of music from the 1930s to 1950s, DJ Dr Swing has a deep appreciation for the artists and bands that defined the swing era. He enjoys uncovering the stories behind the music and sharing them through his carefully curated sets. For DJ Dr Swing, the connection between music and dance is at the heart of it all, keeping the spirit of the era alive.

At Belvoir Castle’s 1940s event, DJ Dr Swing will be providing music and dance entertainment throughout the day, spinning classic swing tunes to get your feet tapping. And if you’re feeling adventurous, he might even teach you the basics of the classic Lindy Hop… No experience required!

Bring granny, bring the kids, bring your neighbour’s cousin but don’t bring Lulu! Just joking, everyone’s welcome to shimmy in style! Dig for victory and dance for joy, we’ll see you there!

Please note: Afternoon Tea is not included with an entry ticket but can be added as an optional extra during the booking journey. Guests can choose to book Afternoon Tea in the Aviary Tearoom or purchase an Afternoon Tea picnic box on the day.
