The return of Ice Skate Leicester!

We’re delighted to confirm the return of Leicester’s Ice Rink, along with some new features for 2025, plus a street curling rink!

Same great ice rink, same great price, with loads more happening around it too. Skate around the fantastic open rink, with twinkling lights under the ice and loads of great events throughout the Christmas season. Stroll through the market outside, grab a hot chocolate or drink at the bar, and wander into the ice rink, which is open to all for the first time, with arcade machines all round the edge, a spectator area, street curling rink and self-service skate hire.

With the ice cooled to the perfect -3 degrees, you’ll have the perfect surface to perfect your skills, no rain or wind as you skate outside, no puddles, just flat ice. There are even lessons available and the chance to bring your own skates.

There will be no increase in price from 2024, with a simplified pricing structure making it easier than ever for you to choose your time to visit. Up until the 19^th December, all skate sessions will be classed as ‘Off Peak’ with a single price starting from £12.50, and once the schools finish, from the 20^th December, all prices will be classed as ‘Peak’ and cost £14.50. Children’s tickets (ages 3-15) are £11.50 until 19 December and £12.50 for the rest of the season.

For this you’ll get 45 minutes on the ice plus a locker to store your shoes and valuables. Following feedback last year, skate hire is optional, so if you want to bring your own skates then you could save £3!

Special adults only sessions are available if you skate after 8, costing only £10, and running until 10pm weekdays and 1am at weekends!

Prices listed above include skate hire and all online bookings are subject to an 80p service charge.

This year Ice Skate Leicester are making it easier than ever to get on the ice, with online booking, pre-booking of skates and self service once you’re inside. When you book, just choose the size you need, and you’re ready to go. When you arrive, simply scan the QR code, which will direct you to a locker where your skates will be waiting. And yes you can leave your shoes and valuables in this secure locker while you enjoy your time on the ice!

Discounts are available for blue light services (5% off), charity workers (£9.50) and carers are always free with the person they come with.

This year, due to public demand and feedback, the Ice Skate Leicester team have added extra sessions designed for visitors with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). These sessions offer fewer people on the ice for more space, static non-flashing lighting, and minimal noise (no music or PA, except emergencies). They’re calm, predictable and a great option for wheelchair users and anyone who prefers a quieter environment.
