Leicestershire Curry Awards 2025

September 16th 2025

Bringing a hint of spice and excitement to a rainy autumn evening, the 2025 Leicestershire Curry Awards were held at Leicester’s Athena on Monday 15 September.

The stars of the city and county’s South Asian restaurant scene gathered in their finery alongside representatives from the city’s universities, the uniformed services, local politicians and dignitaries from around the region. All to celebrate the massive impact that this much loved cuisine has on our city’s economy, livelihood and lives.

Run by Pukaar Group and Leicester’s Mr Curry Romail Gulzar, the awards were presented by Ady Dayman from BBC Radio Leicester’s breakfast show, and Sumeer Kalyani from ITV News Central. In the weeks prior to the awards, five independent judges were tasked with sampling dishes from all the shortlisted restaurants in order to make their final decisions.

A night full of Bollywood dancing singing, fantastic food, and of course a celebration of the chefs and restauranteurs that make Leicester England’s Curry Capital! So without further ado, we present this year’s winners!
